Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that it is the primary ministry of every believer to obey the command that God as given us, to take the Gospel to the very ends of the earth, by sharing its message to others in the world. We also believe that God's heart is to reach people of all races, cultures, and backgrounds and that the Gospel is the only thing that breaks those boundaries.
Covenant Chapel seeks to reach out to the world with the Gospel through the support of long term and short term missionaries and local mercy organizations. The Gospel compels us to go forward and obey.
Helping missionaries, reaching the world and changing lives...Short term mission trips are opportunities for God to change the lives of the short-term missionaries going and the people they meet.
The main work of the mission team will be to assist in running the summer camp program at LOGAN Hope. The mission team will be serving the people in Yucatan through various ministries, such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), English classes, home visitations/evangelism, service projects (i.e. giving out reading glasses, providing haircuts), etc. The team will have the wonderful opportunity to love, serve and freely share the gospel to many Mexicans in different villages.
The team will be serving and ministering to Karen children and teens in Hartford through a week long summer program that will resemble a VBS type of ministry. The team will share the gospel to the Karen children and teens and will seek to build loving, Christ centered relationships with them as well.
Elder Geungho Kim is a member of our church and was commissioned as a missionary to Mexico by FKPC. He has been serving in Yucatan, Mexico at our church mission center near Merida (Samkan), and he has been been ministering in a variety of ways to the people of Mexico. One of his most important ministries has been to send young Mexican men and women without many opportunities to a vocational school while also providing for them food, lodging and spiritual care.
Neel went to Thailand as a missionary with OMF in 1987, and he supervises Christian workers in the Upper Mekong Region. Many of these workers are engaged in a variety of development and educational programs designed to help people who have very limited opportunities to improve their lives. In all of these activities the ultimate objective is that the many ethnic groups throughout the region will come to know Jesus Christ in a personal and life transforming way.
Paul Kim went with his family to Thailand as a missionary in 2005. Their ministry vision is as follows:
Our vision is a vibrant Christian community that steadily produces Christlike indigenous leaders, who effectively contribute to the worldwide body of believers. individual leadership development is our main strategy, and we want to keep things sustainable. We get excited to see orphans in Chonburi go on to college or seminary. Paul is also helping to raise funds for Chonburi Center and Help Live. And we lead English Bible studies for a group of Thai professionals (OLC or Outreach Language Center). A lot of believers are investing in us not just to share the gospel, but to teach the Thai Christians themselves how to share the gospel. Ultimately, we would like to see Thai leaders effectively transforming churches around the world.
We volunteer when they need helpers to prepare lunches for the needy, and we also collect clothes and blankets to donate to them.
A program dedicated to providing for the children in impoverished villages and countries around the world. We prepare gifts that would aid the children in their health, knowledge, and spiritual hunger for the Word.
A volunteer program in Manchester, CT to help those in need within our own community to rebuild and refurnish homes.
